A video short made by manipulating and animating 20 still images of sound waves generated from rope stretching samples. Based on concepts of extension – being stretched, pushing past and beyond comfort, through limitations and structures that confine and define, and beyond boundaries – Kymaproten aims to induce a trance-like response through slowly shifting repetitive visual and sonic patterns. From anxiety to resolve, Kadet’s work plays with the interdependence of bodily experience and the transcendence of the mind.
